black friday

Life has been a little hectic lately and finals are coming up! Only 10 more school days, then CHRISTMAS BREAK! I can't wait, I seriously am so excited. It is sorta tough to feel the 'Christmas Spirit' here in Hawaii. Not the same as my Idaho Christmases made up of family, cocoa, cold snowy days, skiing, hanging lights, attending the tree lighting in our home town, and the casual drives around neighborhoods to check out everyone's Christmas lights. But, Hawaii is wonderful and I have no room to complain. This Christmas will be a Hawaii Christmas for us.

One way that totally helped Chase and I kick off December was Black Friday shopping! I love getting a deal so we just couldn't resist. This was Chase's first time going and we enjoyed ourselves! It was an adventure. Chase was a really good sport and put up with all my shananigans.

We started off our Black Friday by leaving Laie at midnight. We hit up the Winward Mall in Kaneohe, Ala Moana in town, and ended on the strip of Waikiki. We got some killer deals and all of our shopping complete minus two gifts (not bad eh). After exhausting ourselves and going to way too many Forever21s (poor Chase) we refurbished our tired selves at Eggs N Things. YUMMIEST breakfast ever and so delicious. It is very popular restaurant so there is usually a wait, but it is much worth it. Just check out our pancakes!!

 After shopping at three different malls and lots of random shops this is pretty much how we both felt. Energyless and famished. We hadn't slept all night except almost an hour in the Ala Moana parking lot. But it was well worth the sales we got and the shopping we completed. We didn't wait in one line either! And the traffic was nothing. I was shocked really.  Black Friday isn't bad if you do it right! But pretty sure Chase will never go again haha.

Look a huge Christmas tree! First hint of Christmas. YAY!!! Chase and I have been listening to Christmas music every day and can't stop drinking cocoa and making cookies. Help?!?!?!

 

Oh and last of all. To top off our wonderful day of shopping and getting all our Christmas decor for our lil apt. we got TOWED! We parked there at 6 in the morning because we have parked in that spot many times before when we have gone to town. It was ok to park there but only till 8:30, then they began street sweeping. Oops :(. But we didn't see the dang sign that was posted way high up on some pole facing the other way. Lame. But we were both surprisingly optimistic about it and took it as a lesson learned and even laughed about it as we walked quite a many blocks to the dang tow place. We thought why call a cab when we have two legs. It was an adventure to say the least. A rather unexpected and costly adventure, but an adventure nonetheless. So much for our Black Friday savings.
